For the Governors who helped me a few weeks back

Hi

I wanted to thank those of you who helped me a few weeks back when I was upset about the way my son's former Head had handled a meeting with me.

I moved my son two weeks before half term and he has settled in wonderfully. He is very happy and has friends. He even won 'learner of the week' this week and spoke in front of the whole school today (they let parents in to see it) to tell them why.

He is only 5 and I was so proud of him!

It is a weight lifted from both of us. The new school feels modern, positive, and open (they have just spent three days learnign about Hinduism). In comparison, my son's old school now seems very traditional, constricting and staid. To the extent that he was almost considered 'not normal' for being the quirky little lad he is.

I would encourage anyone who is very unhappy with their child's school to look at what else is out there. It can be very hard to make a change but all schools are different and so are all children!

Thanks again

Hi, debs.

I'm glad to hear that it's worked out so well for your son. I hope he'll go from strength to strength at the new school.

I don't think I helped much - I just lobbed some ideas around - but sometimes (speaking personally) that's exactly what one needs from MN.
