Have a bottle of wine chilling for when you get home.

Headache pills

Plenty of tissues

Take wet wipes and tissues.

School will be organised with sick bowls and stuff.

Try and sit near the back of the coach so that you dont get put with the travel sick ones!!

Make sure you know the names of the children you will be in charge of.

Try not to lose any!

Have fun.

Where are you going?

Just - do what the person in charge asks you to do! Make sure you concentrate on looking after whoever it is that you are in charge of - it can be quite distracting when there are a lot of children and adults around, but try not to let your attention off the ones who are your responsibility.

we are going to the Tower of London. I know most of the names I think. Had tissues on the list, but not wipes.

LOL at the wine.... although it is obviously going to be needed!

Do not drink too much... of anything! I helped on a school trip and the group of Y1's I was looking after decided they wanted to go round on their own (wildlife park). All fine untill I realised I needed a wee, and could not leave the group unsupervised. Very uncomfortable hour untill I met up with another group whose parent helper could watvh the group.

Majeika - lol! Watching with interest as I have volunteered to go with Ds2's class to Hampton Court soon...

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 04/11/2008 19:31

Meant to add - I know the boys' names but the girls all look the same to me - must try to remember their names...

If you need a pack lunch take it in a back pack, you might have to carry it with you. Wear a jacket with big pockets, handy for tissues and all their purses saves them dropping them everywhere. Def take water, tissues and baby wipes in backpack. Your own latex gloves could be handy in case you do end up with a sick one.

OH and top tip to any parent sending a child on a school trip if they are taking money to get a sweets souviner DO NOT GIVE THEM £3 IN PENNIES, please!!! ( I worked in a shop that got school parties in, nightmare).
