Well indeed

he can be quite rough and is a handful when I have been on school trips but he was dd1's little pal when she first started (he liked her hair) (not sure what his diagnosis it tbh, have not asked)

My god these mothers that act like they are still schoolkids themselves are supposed to be guiding, nurturing, caring, loving mums. They are bringing up the next generation of bastards err sorry I mean caring adults!!!!

same as OO and dilemma
we get the 'oh such and such is so naughty' but I just smile and say 'really?' and change the subject
None of them i would particularly go for a night out with but tbh I feel as though I have enough other friends, like work friends, long distance ones, family etc not to get too worked up that no one suggests coffee. We all see each other at the b/day parties at the old soft play but tbh after 2 hours I'm ready to go home...

I bloody love the school gates. Love love love them. Full of nice, friendly, interesting people. And the occasional goodlooking dad I can shamelessly ogle appreciate. What's not to like?

traceybath · 22/10/2008 20:17

Its like any place - some people you click with others you don't.

Most are friendly but then i have a baby who is very smiley so everyone chats to him and by association me.

DontKillMeBaby · 22/10/2008 21:33

They seem really nice - bar the one with whom I have extremely unfortunately history, but there haven't even been any problems there. My friend (mum of DD's bestest nursery friend) reported a hilarious conversation with one of the mums at HER school where she was told about the ferocious rivalry that exists between the mums at the two schools though ... yeah, whatever.

Any clothes snobbishness that might have existed would have been squashed by the first two weeks wearing wellies and anoraks EVERY DAY, I reckon.

I love picking dd up from school, it feels like an adventure and opportunity to chat to all sorts of different people that have something important in common.

I'm relieved too, had no idea what to expect.
