I was stood waiting for dd to come out today, could see her through the window, a boy was throwing her pe kit about on the floor, she came to get her coat and he hit her in the face, dd followed him around the corner and hit him back (shes never done this before ever) Friday Teacher saw and they both got in bother for hitting.

DD come out in tears and teaching assistant called her back in, apparently she had been told by several other children that this child had been nasty and name calling her for being new (shes been there two weeks.

I said that I was aware of some calling and that I dd had said an adult had been told and it had been sorted so I left it but kept an ear out for any further issues. TA says they werent aware. They asked the child infront of me and he denied it (obviously!) was told he usually admits it if hes done wrong, they told me it was probably because it was getting near half term and they were all tired and that they were sorry and never send children out in tears usually.

DD has just told me he has been saying she is stupid and not allowed in his school. Would you leave it now and see how they deal with it or would you have a word with the full time teacher on Monday?

I would have a word, but keep it very quiet, non-confrontational and smiley iyswim! Just so they all know tyhat you know, but you're not labelled as interfering mum.

Yes I know what you mean, had it been full time teacher in class I wouldnt have had another word but because it wasnt her main teacher. I was also left a bit confused as to what they were going to do to deal with it.

I would have a quiet word on Monday with the other teacher too, so both teachers were int he know and could keep a closer eye and ear out.

Have a word with the teacher on Monday, deff. You just want them to be aware and keep an eye onm it for now, I'd've thought.

ok thanks, wasnt sure if telling the other teacher as well was a bit overkill?

Yep just want them to keep an eye on it.
