School jumpers/cardigans with the school logo on them

Hi, would really appreciate your help. The primary school my child attends has a requirement that children are expected to purchase the school jumpers with the logo on it. The price of the cardigan is £15. Do any of you just buy one jumper/cardigan (with the school logo)? I feel like it is far too pricey when you have multiple kids to buy for. Anyone have any advice please? Have you ever sent your kids in without a jumper with a logo when their jumper ripped and needs replacing but cannot be done urgently?

Ours wasn't mandatory so we bought one logoed one for photo day and then plain. The rate my kids lose jumpers - was the only way I wasn't going to be ruined financially!

Our primary school (a very mixed demographic) was really relaxed about uniform and explicitly said branded jumpers were optional and plain supermarket stuff was fine. The PTA runs a secondhand swap shop weekly and I know the teachers found ways of getting things to families in need.

Off to secondary now and it all sounds rather more strict…

Does the school not sell them second hand? That's where I got all mine from.
Also are your children twins? Otherwise surely you can just buy for the oldest and hand them down, they don't have to be pristine. I have one I hide in the back for school photos, and the rest they can wear even if they've got paint etc over them.

If the rule is it has to be branded I'd just look at second hand ones. DS's school has a preloved uniform shop where the jumpers are just a few pound so definitely cheap enough that way.

My kids school is quite strict about uniform, so yeah I do have to buy multiple jumpers/cardigans 😭
