so DD is learning to read and is able to blend and segment words and according to her teacher is on track however when I am practising with her I’m noticing a couple of behaviours that are distraction techniques to allow her processing time. I do question dyslexia.
so she will read the list of words that are in the story and the red word (tricky word)
she will then read her pages but sounds out every word again, even though she’s just read it. It’s like she’s not processing that it’s repeating. At times she will say a word that doesn’t even look like the word she is reading.
what would you say this is and any advice on how to support other than practise. I do know that she is a perfectionist as well so I wonder whether she’s sounding out to make sure she’s right.
DD’s attention is poor of a night so we practise in the morning too.
