Experiences of Bruern Abbey and Fairley House for a dyslexic twice exceptional Year 4 child

Hi we are currently looking at schools for our son from september going into year 4.
Looking for some 'lived experience' feedback on Bruern Abbey and Fairley House.
My DS is classically 'Twice Exceptional'—95th percentile verbal reasoning but 7th percentile working memory and significant ocular-motor/sensory needs.
he’s currently being homeschooled after a mismatch of mainstream primary with a teacher who didnt understand his needs and believed he was lazy and defiant and didnt recognise he was dyslexic so became dysregulated and overwhlemed in their really busy environment.
He’s an articulate, eager learner at heart and wants to go back to school.
Would love to hear any thoughts, feedback snd experience on these schools please!

Have you looked round the schools? Spoke to admissions team? DS is hopefully joining BA some point next year (he has an EHCP so this all needs sorting and changing first) we love the school and have every faith it’s the right place for DS. He had autism and adhd and learning difficulties that mean he is working approx 2.5 years below peers at current school. I believe they have a range of different abilities at the school and each child is supported as an individual

@Mumoftwo23Has your ds done the assessment days yet? We are seriously considering.

Yes he had two assessments days and has a place. Just got to change placement on his EHCP which I hear can take a long time unfortunately!

Thankyou, I hope so!
On his first visit it was a short day- 4 hours. He spent some time with the Senco and then joined the others for some maths and English. He joined them for lunch and play time and then came home. Second visit was 9-4pm and he joined all the classes including some drama and art which he really enjoyed. Followed by games at the end of the day, he found this quite over whelming but they were very flexible and didn’t force him to join in, there were other children who also weren’t keen!
A few days later I had a long telephone conversation with them and they answered all my questions and reassured me about all my child’s little quirks. They have many adaptions in place and I felt very reassured and confident they can support him.
feel free to message me if you have any other questions 😊
