New to the PFA this year and need to write a 'welcome pack' for new parents

. .what do you think I should put in it? What would be useful?

Not so much about the school - they will be doing that bit, but what would you like to know, if anything, about the PFA?

I want people to feel included, not alienated, ad went to get this across in the pack.

Hi, Having recently joined a PTA where there is a serious lack of interest from parents, I would say make clear that you don't have to attend lots of meetings and volunteer to do everything. You can do as much or as little as you can. People seem to be under the impression that they will have to attend a meeting every week when in actual fact we would really appreciate someone doing 1/2 hour of photo copying once a term!

Definitely tell people that is as much or as little as they want and play on the skills they have. Perhaps you could include a list of areas/items you are focusing on and ask if anyone has any skills that could help.

If my PTA were to produce a pack I would like to see a rough plan of events through the year. What they are aiming to do, how they think they may spend the money and what it has been spent on in the past, how they are supporting the school and some examples of how some parents, even giving a small amount of time have helped.
