Fun workbooks to improve handwriting

My youngest (P3/ equivalent year 2) has messy handwriting and we're trying to do
more of this home. He responds better to games & puzzles rather than a black & white worksheet - the Gant handwriting and spelling books are good as they are fun & nicely illustrated. Does anyone have any other fun handwork work book recommendations?

The CGP handwriting books are good and quite colourful.

I would work on his fine motor skills to build the required muscles to make handwriting easier, which leads to neater writing.
Try lego, play dough, threading they all help.

"fun" + "workbook" = "mutually exclusive"

Teach him to type (BBC dance mat typing online is good and game based). It'll be far more useful for him.

If his handwriting is still really poor by age 15 he'll be given a laptop for exams, assuming they aren't all online by then anyway.

I'd agree with mostly focusing on fine motor skills and hand strength with lego, drawing, playdoh/clay, threading, etc. For stuff that's a bit more closely linked, what about a book of mazes, so he's encouraged to draw precise lines? Anything using scissors could also be good, precision and hand strength, and you can make some fun projects.

My son Y3 had fine handwriting until the school started getting him to do joined up writing. It’s now awful. I feel your pain.

Adults have a mix of handwriting though, loads of successful people have illegible writing, it doesn’t really bother me, as long as it’s good enough to read.
