Finding Tutors

Am looking for a tutor for dc in KS2. Want to get DC up to speed in English and Maths in first instance (mainly English) and then maybe look at 11+ further down the line. We're based in London - really appreciate any top tips of websites etc. to look at. Experience so far is all the good ones booked out and all the websites seem very generic. Not sure which are the good sites to look at?

Thanks @MumInMedicine84 really appreciate it - it's a bit of a mine field and everyone good seems to be booked out already!

Good tutors are very hard to find and booked out 6m+ in advance. We really tried to get on the books with one for our son's 7+ prep. Contacted them in March, got put on a waitlist and told to try again in August. Tried again and told no chance of getting a spot as there's been no movement and no one has given up their slot at all! Not surprising but very disheartening overall.

Would also help to know what area of London you're looking in?

If you’re considering 11+ you need to start prepping for that from the middle of year 4 and your DC needs to be confidently working at greater depth already.
I’ve reached the point where all my pupils are via word of mouth so I’d ask around. Alternatively agencies can be a good starting point. By mid-July I had only 2 slots available for September with the rest either carrying on or giving their slot to a younger sibling.

There are very many highly exoerienced teachers recently out of the classroom. I know because I'm one of them and have always done a bit of tutoring. Have you asked for recommendations on your local fb? I think everyone I've tutored has been a personal recommendation. Obviously, it depends hugely on where you live.
