Hi so my daughter is s 7 and just joined a new school for year 3. We moved house hence the new school.
It was her 3rd day today and she is absolutely miserable, it took ages to get her to go in today and she was very quick to tell me when I picked her up that she won't ever go back.
She's a pretty sensitive soul and has never found making friends easy, takes any little comment to heart etc.
She does seem to be utterly miserable and seems to hate her new school.

I'm dreading tomorrow morning, I barely got her to go in today with help of the teachers so I don't know if I will even get that far tomorrow!
She is normally happy to go to school, I've never had issues with her in the past and it's not because it's a new school as it's not the first time she's changed school and has always been fine starting somewhere new.

Advice welcome?

Change can be hard for kids, I want to like 5/6 primary schools. it also gave me great skills, I'm very good in a room with people I've never met, I met different people etc. I try and meet up with a parent and their kids this weekend if you can, just so that she can meet some people 1-1. Also what about asking if tomorrow she can come in earlier and maybe just sit and get used to the classroom, maybe if they have any artsy activities tomorrow then during that the teacher can push her to talk with some more people. You need to both support her but also push her outside her comfort zone, go slowly though so that she doesn't get too overwhelmed.

How many schools has she had by 7 yrs old?
Research shows how hard it is for children to move schools once, yet alone numerous times.
You need to support her and bring the teachers in to that.
