So far I’ve been told to make sure her hair is tied up and to use vosene shampoo

Yes you add 4-6 drops to the bottle . I also add the same amount of drops to a spray bottle with water and spray on hair each morning and night

Well tied up (bun or plaits) and a good spray of a tea tree oil solution as you leave the house each morning. We avoided it all through primary, then my eldest brought it home when she started secondary, because pretty much everyone had long hair they wore down.

Leave in conditioner & a few drops of tea tree oil my daughter caught nits once & it freaked her out; beautiful long thick pure blonder than blonde hair which I quickly learnt was best kept tied back in a nice neat ponytail plated & rolled into a neat bun she hated it but it was only for school ponce home we took it straight down & she could have it loose; she never caught them again even when every other child did but I would comb her hair every Sunday checking as we had a son ag the same school he never caught them x
Good luck x

It's usually not an issue. If you hear whispers then use diluted tea tree oil sprayed on the hair. You can also put a few drops in shampoo or whatever you use to comb out the hair. Buy a nitty gritty and use it on hair as instructed once a week. Tieing hair up also helps.

I always put a few drops of tea tree oil in a tea tree shampoo. I use a tea tree conditioner too. Been doing this since nursery, eldest is Year 5 and none of them have ever had nits!

You can't entirely avoid it but plaits is the best option for long hair. Check regularly with a nit comb and conditioner so you catch them early. Unfortunately they are just an annoying part of primary school life
