Hi!
really hoping for advice and as much information as possible to assist me with an infant class appeal. I have read previous threads and this exact issue happened to another user
I submitted my child’s reception school admission online and when I logged in to ensure I was ready for the results day it said application not submitted……,can you even imagine my heart break.
we live in the catchment for a fantastic schooled enquiries so far have revealed she would have indeed been allocated a place.
i am appealing on the grounds of a technical glitch. The system shows all of my activity and information I uploaded to the system.
had anyone been in this situation? Any advice to offer. Postiive only! I know my chances of appeal are extremely slim
thank you for reading so far

From what you have said, you uploaded the information but didn't press 'submit'. This left your application as a draft.

You would have received an email confirmation if you had submitted it.

It's human error, not a technical glitch.

Did you read the guidance before applying?

As stated on your other thread, unless you have proof that you pressed the submit button, such as a confirmation screenshot, your memory of pressing the button is not going to be enough.

Have you been offered a school place and are you on the waiting list for the school you want?

I was wondering if you didn’t actually submit the application, is the LA aware that you need a school place for September?

Agree with @Lougle

If you have a confirmation screenshot, email or other evidence to prove you submitted your application, you have a strong case. Without that, I'm afraid an appeal is unlikely to succeed unless it becomes apparent that there was a widespread problem affecting many parents.

Did it say, as you applied, that you would receive a confirmation email?

I can’t imagine not getting one and thinking it was all fine!

But if it says on the application something like ‘you will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours’ then I don’t think there is anything you can do as it’s up to you to follow that up.,

I did a primary appeal and the panel went deep into my reasons. It was really intense.

It would make sense to ask admissions if anyone else has claimed the same issue on the same date.

Any glitch would leave a record of some sort on the computer system.
If there was a failure of some sort, it would need to be repaired to restore functionality. This would leave a record.

If this is your approach, the presenting Officer will have to question the data and system to refute your argument at the appeal, and in readiness to be questioned by the panel.

I would ask Admissions if there were any malfunctions, processing errors, security issues, loss of data or corruption of data, or anything unusual at the time you are talking about. This is your proof or not, depending on what is found.
