We are a family of four with 2 young kids. We are looking for places where we can move for work in Coventry. Our priorities are safety, primary education and affordability. Please suggest where are the best suited places for us. I have set up a poll, will be helpful to get an idea. Thanks

There are plenty of nice green spaces and parks and some great primary schools.

Prices will vary so depends on your budget. Kenilworth and Warwick are great but pricey. Nuneaton has nice surrounding villages but town centre is grim.

Rugby still has a grammar school system so you need to decide how you feel about that if you are considering that.

Leamington is also very nice but, again pricier.

There are lovely villages surrounding Coventry. Depends on what you'd want to spend. Corley, Fillongley, Old Arley are nice.
Agree with Nuneaton town being grim but it has its nice suburbs such as Whitestone and Weddington. Galley Common also nice with a good infant school

nahthatsnotforme · 27/04/2025 16:37

Agree with all
the above. Where your workplace
is would also influence my decision.. is it north, south, east or west Coventry?

mumandgp · 28/04/2025 21:29

That’s very helpful. Thank you so much for your suggestions.

Not sure if it’s north, south, east or west but planning to move within 30-45 minutes commute from Coventry University hospital.
Our preference is a nice primary school and nursery, budget can be stretched.

Thank you all for your input

I'm in Coundon (north of the city), a few good primary schools right on the doorstep here.
Keresley Grange Academy, fab. My DC went and it's a lovely little school with a family feel.

Hollyfast is also good
Also Coundon Primary
Christ The King Catholic school is supposed to be fab also.
If you need anymore info please direct message me on here

mumandgp · 29/04/2025 09:21

Great, will search Coundon and will be in touch soon.
Thanks again

I was brought up in Wolston which is near the village in the last post and very convenient for UHCW. It’s a larger village with a good primary school, shop, pubs, doctors etc. My elderly parents still live there and I’m very grateful they are in a fantastic community with everything they need in easy reach.

outofofficeagain · 30/04/2025 08:29

Wolston is lovely but has had bad floods two years running so be careful where in the village you look.

IvySquirrel · 30/04/2025 10:53

Ooh yes avoid Main St and Brook St!!

Southam. Great schools including an outstanding secondary
