and the teacher agreed!

dd2 loves her reading books, but by saturday, with no pushing from me can i add, she is word perfect on her book and bored.

so i asked if it was possible for her to have two at the weekends, and the teacher said it was fine as dd2 is on a different stage to the rest of her class, so not all books were being used.

phew!

Great! Libraries have loads of reading scheme books, usually, if that helps.

Hulababy · 12/05/2008 21:10

That's great

I'd also recommend either visiting the library or getting books from the chairty shops (saves you loads in the end!) - readng scheme books can be so boring and there ae some much nicer early readers out there to interest a new reader.

she has loads of books here, and is working through the ones at home, but really enjoys her reading scheme books. strange child lol.

That's not unusual misdee -- all mine have gone through phases of being obsessed by Biff and Chip. Strange children.

Hi misdee

I can recommend the Usborne Young readers - it is astructured reading scheme which is being used by a lot of primaries. contact me if you are interested as I am a seller for Usborne

I did the same. Teacher told me there was no point in giving the readers that he'll be getting as part of the curriculum next year and the year after but is taking them from the school library instead.
Ds likes the biff kipper et al books but there are some great young reader books that actually have a good stories in easy to read language. I like the Panda Flyer books for ds.
