Hi guys shaking while writing this don’t know if im on the right thread or what im doing!? I am struggling to get any info for my 8yo daughter who is having a really difficult time with school she has a SEND plan and is currently on half days at school so picking up at 12.30 as she can’t manage the full day. She has dyslexic tendencies and also autistic tendencies and becomes frustrated during lessons and hurts herself (this a small portion of issues ) I’m working with school and doctor but she has come to me tonight upset saying she feels like she’s wasting everyone’s time because she has all these thoughts but can’t tell us what it is because it’s muddled up in her head and doesn’t know why … I’ve explained that’s perfectly fine and we all feel like this sometimes but I can’t help feeling there’s more I could be doing? Can anyone help
many thanks

I'm so sorry that she is going through this. Can I suggest that you make another thread in the SEN topic (there are a lot of friendly faces there that may not see this post).
I've got no suggestions, other than you are not alone. I have been trying to understand what my DC are going through and have found the examples in the webinars here https://www.kingston.ac.uk/faculties/faculty-of-health-social-care-education/department-of-education/kudyt/kudyt-webinars/?dm_i=1M62,8TYFL,9DECSO,10R9XS,1 useful. The acitivity is a series of free webinars about dyslexia and support (for the student), might be worth a look.
I hope that you are able to access support outside of school.
