Understanding how to fill primary school form

Hi,

Our daughter is due to start state school in Sept 2025 so we need to put down our choices by Jan 15th.

In our area, there is a good school that we like that will likely fall within our catchment (0.30). There is an excellent school further away (1.0m) that we may get in depending on the year but it's a stretch.

If we put the stretch school as our first choice but don't get in, will we compromise our chances for the good school that is near us?

Thanks

No it doesn't reduce your chances of the nearby school by putting the stretch school first. Definitely put the one you want most first on your list.

No, it doesn't affect your chances for the nearer school whether you put them first or second. Good luck!

The previous posters are correct, but for your own peace of mind you should read up on the Equal Preference System so you understand it properly for yourself.
