Primary Schools in Tonbridge - please advise

Hi, Could you please advise which primary schools in Tonbridge will be the best options? Do you need to live close to them and be in the 'catchment area'? are they at full capacity? (the recommended one?) any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

usually they are strict on catchment areas so it depends whats close to you
go to open mornings and speak to staff if your child has any extra needs

Slade and Sussex are considered good. Maybe also St Margaret’s. I know for the first two, you have to live close by because it’s a small catchment.

I'm actually considering a move to Tonbridge so any advise where is best or where to avoid will be appreciated

I guess it depends on budget as well as what you'd like to be convenient.
Bus routes/frequency are fairly good so generally easy to get to the station if you need to commute.

I would avoid cage green try Margaret Clitheroe it's Catholic school, don't no about woodlands

I went to Woodlands!!! 40 odd years ago... it was a brilliant school then 😊

All three schools mentioned made fewer offers than their PAN on national offer day for this year's intake. Woodlands nominally has a PAN of 90, but only made 59 offers and has applied for an in-year variation to 60 (which means they don't have to keep a third qualified teacher on the books in case they get a 61st applicant whom they cannot refuse).

Yes woodlands are moving to 2 form entry from sept 2025.

My kids are at woodlands and are thriving, but as always it's really best to go look around the schools as they are all very different.

I doubt you'll get into Slade or Sussex road where you are and st Margaret's prioritise family's who are religious.

Can I ask why to avoid cage green? Thank you!

Would you mind explaining what 2 form entry is? And what do you mean the schools are very different? Apologies for all the questions its just all new to me!
Sounds like your kids enjoy the school which is good 😊

Thank you! Will have a read as not sure what it all means yet! 😊

Sorry I mean it currently has 3 classes of 30 in each year, but the falling birth rate means they are moving to 2 classes per year.

I don't really know how much that affects your decision really!
