Hi
if a child is hitting over 140 in their INCAS assessments, how can I expect the school to better support DD?

This kind of test measures attainment, so it sounds like they are already supporting her well. What is it that you think she needs that school are not doing?

Thanks, but I don’t think she’s learning most of what she knows from school but from work we do at home. The homework she brings home is very basic.

Is she finding it easy? Have you told them? Are you doing a lot of work at home, and if so why?

How old is she?

She finds the work at school incredibly easy so we do a little with her daily and also stretch her with music and sport externally. She’s 9 but I’m disappointed the school isn’t differentiating work. I’ve mentioned it to the school numerous times and it’s falling on deaf ears

How do you know she finds it easy? Has the teacher told you? Differentiation is a big no-no these days!

Why is differentiation a big no no? Her INCAS scores imply she’s finding it easy although I appreciate it’s only one form of testing. Her reports have always been amazing and at parents evening they’ve always told me she’s incredibly bright. So if they are aware of it, I’m not sure why they can’t extend her? Is mastery not part of the national curriculum?
