Cap On Gift Value For Primary Teachers?

My son goes to a state primary school and is finishing year 6 next month. His teacher is amazing and I want to get him a lovely gift.

Is there a maximum gift allowance for state primary teachers that the teacher would be allowed to accept?

For example at my work it is £50. I don't want to gift the teacher something they are not allowed to keep.

You will need to check with your school, our trust has recently changed ours.

Ask the school.
Our answered 'value = a bottle of wine'.

Your son's teacher will remember the sentiment - not the value! A small personal gift, or a letter expressing your gratitude will mean so much more than something that cost a lot.

I still have a keyring a child gave me 8 years ago - it has a simple message on it that was something I used to say to her. This is the best gift I was ever bought.

Another child made me a flower using particular materials because they were involved in an activity we did together when she overcame her shyness and spoke for the first time outside the home. That made me cry because it showed how much they valued the work I'd put in with her. I still have it now.

Our school does a collection pot....so the value ends up being over hundred or two.
