Thank you. I will have a look.

John Lewis are the best for school clothes I think - mind you that is because you can get the traditional princess line one there - I haet the ones with straight skirts or ra ra skirts that have been available for the past few years!

BHS have a cotton dress for £7. Only in blue and red though so no good to you twinset. I think they have a lilac in another style....

tsap, dress sent today

DD has the choice to wear either summer uniform or winter uniform bewteen now and half term. It is summer uniform only after May half term.

However there isn't a chance you'll get DD in winter uniform now until next October half term!

But luckily DD is a hot bod and never seems to feel the cold. She never has a vest and always leaves her cardigan at school.

They can always wear vests, longer socks and cardigans.

Our school went back today in summer uniform - dark coloured polo shirts instead of shirt/tie, optional jumper.

Most students didn't wear their jumpers today. They will do tomorrow: they were all freezing

hula dd is the same she wants to wear summer uniform whatever the weather. Lots of her winter uniform is looking a bit tired anyway.

Thanks Misdee.

mine are desperate to wear their summer dresses now (very nice, cotton mix, shirt style top, flary skirt, tie belt, asda, 3.50 total result)

but have vetoed as too cold

twinsetandpearls · 08/04/2008 12:17

It has just come through the door, dd loves it. She has just said if it is warm enough for my dress we can go camping!

I think dd is like Hula's and just does not feel the cold or perhaps she has that northern woman syndrome. Go into Blackpool on a Friday night and the town is full of women in dresses and no jackets with legs like corned beef but swearing they are happy.

It's a pita getting dresses that are anything other than red or blue at times isn't it?

DD wears yellow summer dresses, her nursery is the only nursery/school in the area that wears yellow so local shops don't stock them. I ended up buying her uniform when I visited a friend 150 miles away. I bought them big so they'll do for this year too.

Thankfully she's off to a school with a blue summer dress. I'm thinking of buying the fabric and making them myself, might be cheaper than buying cotton dresses. She has polyester atm and they don't seem to bother her but I would prefer she was in cotton. Polyester dresses do dry quickly though.

twinsetandpearls · 08/04/2008 13:57

Her school tie is the same, it can only be bought in one shop that opens really funny hours.

glad it has arrived. i asked dd's to get their uniforms out yesterday, and they said 'summer dresses?' i pointed out it had snowed the last two days and they still needed their winter uniforms for a few more weeks.

DD goes back to her nursery/school tomorrow in her summer unform. A pink stripey dress with cardigan and short socks!

She will be wearing a vest and tights and probably trousers underneath as we walk to school! wonder how many people stick to the proper uniform!

The dress cost £26 each! and can only be bought from the school supplier! I bought her 2 and will be wrapping her in wipedown plastic from head to toe.....

Which reminds me, must go up and start labelling everything soon...

twinsetandpearls · 08/04/2008 21:29

26 pound

tell me about it - I didn't even notice until I went to pay, and had 2 dresses and 2 cardigans and it cost me £87....

thank goodness that I only picked up 2, I was thinking if I needed more...

Heifer · 08/04/2008 21:49

actually I just noticed that I lied - the dresses were £23 and the cardi £18...

twinsetandpearls · 08/04/2008 23:28

Oh well that is a bargain then!
