Milk order for my child cancelled by school

I pay for milk for my child. Have done for years.
I obviously have to input my child's details myself into the milk website they use and pay for it myself.
I received an email today from the milk company saying my amount has been closed as it's either no longer required or my child has left the school.
This was the first I'd heard of this so I was confused.
After mentioning it to my child it appears recently she's thought the milk has changed and when the receptionist asked who doesn't want milk anymore she was one who put her hand up.
She forgot about this but also I'm not sure she made the connection that the teacher was going to cancel this permanently type thing.

Shouldn't I have been notified about this?
I thought because this was something I organised and paid for myself, it would be me who would have to cancel.

Have you checked the book bag that there's not a crumpled letter in the bottom?

If not, it really is a specific school thing, no point in wasting milk though if your child doesn't like it and better than paying for something that's going to waste.

Does your daughter want the milk or not ?

yes it should be discussed but what age because if it’s year 6 they tend to try give them more of a say . Year 2 very different

That's fine but it's not really the fact that she doesn't want it anymore. It's the fact that they cancelled it without notifying or discussing with me.
Really I can't understand why they should be allowed to do that if it's not something they set up

At the start of year 3 my child was signed up for milk (as she said she wanted it) but said she wasn't getting any. Eventually discovered she was the only child signed up and when she asked for it the teacher was surprised, so then my child was all embarrassed about it. I didn't know for a few weeks that I was paying for it but she wasn't having it. When I found out I double checked she didn't want to resume having it then cancelled with the milk company. It's just one of those things. I guess it depends on the age of the child. Year 3 or above I think the teacher is ok to do as the child requests.

I think it's fine to cancel on the child's say so after maybe year 3.
