Prep/independent schools in Barnet/Enfield?

Our boy is turning 3 this summer and we are starting to plan for schools we’d like to consider. We are local to some good state primary schools like Monkfrith and Ashmole but would like to get some suggestions for independent schools in the area as well that may serve as good feeder schools for any secondary independent schools in Barnet as we want to consider all options.

I’ve come across Vita Pax, Grange prep, Salacombe. Any others to consider? Looking for a holistic academic focus environment with good SEN support (not a must but would be good to consider this). Any suggestions from experienced mums here? We are new to area so absolutely clueless on how to narrow down our search. Planning on arranging some visits but would prefer to hear any personal experiences or suggestions.

@SleeplessinBarnet since your little one is three you have time to consider different options. For any independent provision visiting schools will help. However, I would definitely not suggest Ashmole if you are planning for state school especially when it is not a must SEN need. Neither primary nor secondary Ashmole will provide good curriculum support for SEN. In fact, if you are very near to the school and feel safe to send your boy there don't even mention at an early stage about his needs. They will discourage you to apply. They didn't reply to my friend's email about supporting her child on special needs. One of the other mum said they used to phone her to pick her son up when he wouldn't sit and focus because of ASD rather than supporting him. They make promises because of paper inclusion policies and give you hopes just by procrastinating support. They are more interested in grades and results. Not sure how they are 'outstanding' school!' Although they are good settings as disciplined schools but not for SEN. So if you do send your boy there be firm and fight right from the beginning for curriculum support. Working with SEN provision politely as a parent etc. doesn't work with them.
