Anyone really annoyed at the detrimental implications of ' lower' social class / teacher bias on their kids in primary school?

Can you elaborate? Or give examples. I’m. It sure I really know what you’re talking about.

Yes but I think by the time you really notice it, it’s too late.

It’s also enmeshed with wider societal discrimination so if your child is from a ‘lower’ social class they’re likely to be victim of it anyway. I know my kids were/are.

It’s outrageous and sickening how class discrimination is so openly practised and encouraged in this country. Often middle class people have such entrenched ideas they don’t even know they’re doing it. But I guess you have to just put up with it and try to play the game as much as you can.

I can’t speak to lower class bias.

i have often wondered if the excellent treatment we get from DD’s school regarding her SN is because they are a wonderful school or because they know we are well-educated and can afford to take them to court if necessary. in other words, I have often wondered if we get better treatment because of our social class.

This is why strict uniform and no jewellery are really important, as they eliminate some of the class bias, but sadly accents, haircuts and snacks still leave people judged.

It doesn't seem to be an issue at my dc school, but then most of the pupils are living in poverty.
