Any good public or private maternelle/primary school in Paris? Feedback on Le Petit Cours du Rocher needed

Hi mamas,

I am moving to Paris in the middle of the Olympics. It is going to be a nightmare !! I am looking urgently for a school for my 4,5 yo son who follows the British curriculum here in London. He is bilingual FR/EN. For school year 24/25, he will be in Grande Section (maternelle).
We don't have an address yet (it is complicated by the Olympics) - but we are targeting the following areas (5, 6, 7, 8, 16th). EIB Monceau and Jeanine Manuel have no space.

I have found a small school in the 8th called Le Petit Cours du Rocher - providing a bilingual education and promoting a positive discipline. However, I have found mixed reviews online some of them quite horrible involving bullying and high teacher turnover. Can someone share a recent experience with this school?

If anyone knows another very good school private or public (even not bilingual), I would be grateful. I am desperate to find the school for him to thrive.

Thank you very much!!
Jay

I wouldn’t recommend Le Petit Cours du Rocher on Faubourg Saint Honoré. The management of the school is truly awful and as a result the teachers leave at an alarming rate, often in the middle of the year so your child has a sub (often an assistant or au pair) for weeks until they convince someone else to take over. The level of maths and science in the school is particularly poor. The directrice is not bilingual and although she was nice in our first meeting we found her to be very disorganized and incompetent. She didn’t respond to mails and communication with parents was poor. For example, the announcement that school photos would be taken was given the Sunday night before. We personally liked two of the teachers but both of them left, along with six others.

The recreation space was very small and as there are neighbours above the kids have just 15 minutes to play outside each day. Many times I collected my kid and he was sweating profusely from being inside a poorly ventilated classroom.

Bullying was poorly handled too. A child brought several knives to the park to harm another child and nothing was done about it!
To be avoided…

Try Union School! I have great things, or Concordia. Or there are many other EIB schools in Paris.
