Hi all,
we have recently moved to the area and we are considering school options for our 8-year old (currently year 3). We have done our research on both schools and really liked them, but we are missing some feedback from parents that know any of the schools well or have had the kids there. Any feedback would be welcome. Thanks so much in advance!

Our DD is very happy at Cavendish. She finds the teaching fun and inspiring, without too much pressure. The music and arts provision is excellent, and the head is very approachable. We aren't religious and although the school has a Catholic foundation, it doesn't play a part in the daily school life. I believe Saint Christina's is more religious, which wouldn't have suited us.

Thank you for sharing! That was our impression as well. It seems a really good school and fit for our DD, but we were a bit surprised by the availability (too good to be true). We would have expected it to be at capacity. We may see you next year!

Hi, I actually have experience of both schools. The schools have very different strengths and weaknesses.

My choice would be St Christina's as it is very nurturing although it is quite religious! I'm sorry to say that I found the pastoral care at the Cavendish to be very poor, the school has a jolly feel and there are some wonderful teachers at the school but when problems arise they are not really dealt with (in my experience).

thanks! And no worries. There I no perfect school and personal experiences matter a lot. We’ve seen that at our current school. Would you be able to share briefly the nature of the problems? Happy to do it privately.

In general, in my experience they did not deal with conflict between children very well - happy to chat privately.

Just wanted to add for the record that we have had two daughters at The Cavendish (and have experience of other schools). We have found The Cavendish to be absolutely faultless. They have dealt with every challenge brilliantly and the teachers are exceptionally gifted.
