Year 3 child unhappy because of old year 2 teacher

In year 2 the teacher was giving some students a hard time. We were warned by other parents that she was to be avoided if possible. Anyway the kids moved on this year. My grandson was picked on particularly along with others that they'd done X y z every day. It escalated luckily other teachers had seen what actually occurred and backed the children as did CCTV evidence.

The children now have a lovely teacher. She's fresh out of college with lots of ideas. Two weeks ago the old teacher barged into the classroom, screaming at my grandson about some transgression, the young teacher was left shaken, grandson, hysterical.

After two weeks we've been told that it's been sorted among that years staff. But if we want to escalate we can.

What on earth does that mean.

The year 1 teacher was the one bursting into a year three teacher class

You said in your OP it was the old year 2 teacher that burst in but now it was the year 1 teacher??

Because the year three teacher said so

So your child’s teacher told you and other parents that another colleague had left her feeling shaken and hysterical…?

But if we want to escalate we can.

they are telling you to complain.
I would say that it would help the school to get rid of a teacher that they know has issues if they have complaints from parents.

They want you to complain. I say that as an ex governor and ex teacher.

There is a formal complaints proceedure which should be on school website, it will be head first, and then if you are not satisfied, governing body

Edited

The school website hasn't been updated since February 2020.

There has never been a list of governors on the website.

This is not meeting statutory requirements. Schools have an obligation to publish certain information on their website. You can Google it - if send links but they are slightly different for maintained vs academies.

Governors are there to advise in our universe

Not if they’re in England, they aren’t.

You complain to the headteacher. If you are then not satisfied with their response you escalate to the governors.

There will be a complaints policy even if it’s not published.

It must be very very irritating that you can’t play the “you weren’t there so it didn’t happen” card. So now you’re saying that even if it did happen the teacher should have just kept quiet about it.

Just ignore dickoryhickory…they’re just going to keep needling you over every little thing until they’re satisfied you’ve been put in your place.

The whole post is pretty confusing with details that don’t make sense so it’s ok to ask for clarification… if you read my reply I didn’t say the teacher should have kept quiet at all. However it sounds quite unprofessional for a teacher for tell parents these things and a governor to gossip by the sounds of it when it should be dealt with in school between the teachers and the headteacher/governors. Without more info it’s hard to know how it was said.
