Small books for party bags?

Hi
Looking for some physically small books - about Mr Men sized, to fit into party bags - for girls aged 6-7. Did flower fairies last year - need inspiration again! Prefer books, but little notebooks/diaries would be ok too.
Any ideas ladies?
Ta very much.

have you tried wilko's? they usually have lots of little books and stocking filler type items.

ellceeell · 17/03/2008 20:46

The Bookpeople are usually good - what about these? www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10051_78246_100_48107__category_

Have you looked in The Book People? They did have some sets of glittery Little Miss books, about 12 for £8 I think. I'll have a look.

Posey · 17/03/2008 20:50

Oh, they don't seem to have them at the moment, sorry. Should've checked before posting.

Ta ladies. Winnie not really popular with dd's peers but will have a scout around that website .
No Wilko's near me - shame, they are always being recommended on here for things
Any other places to look?

RosaIsRed · 17/03/2008 21:46

What about these

katepol · 17/03/2008 22:42

Thanks for the links ladies - good ideas, but all too physically big to fit in the bags I have got alas. Maybe I should go to Borders so I can just see which books are tiny !
Or maybe I should just but some plastic tat instead lol!

Could you not just put the cake or whatever in the bag and give them the book seperately? You would have much more choice that way. I have done this before when I got a set of Angelina Ballerina hardbacks from Book People - they looked really impressive and were such a bargain! Red House is the other really good site to look on, if you haven't looked on it already - especially as they do free p&p on all orders now.

I did this for my ds's 6th birthday. I used one of those gift bags that you can get from those £1 shops. You get 4 bags for a pound!

I put a book, pencils, rubbers, party foods etc.
They kids loved it, as it felt really special.

www.jesters.com has little notebooks, things like puzzle books for 35p each, wooden jigsaw kits for 45p each.

And paper party bags which particularly appeal to me, I don't like plastic bags.

katepol · 18/03/2008 20:56

Bags are fabric ones (courtesy of yellow moon) - one of the party activities is decorating them . Their size limits what can go in (no bad thing imo!) hence my needing small books. Will try RedHouse and Jesters
