Reasons for choice

Just doing the school app and there's space for a reason for choice. Does it matter what I say here?

First choice is mainly because it's closest etc, so nothing really out of the ordinary or compelling?

Is this even looked at or considered by the LA/schools?

I can only imagine this is useful if the (genuine) reason would potentially bump you up the priority list (ie a child in care, with an EHCP etc).

It would obviously need to be genuine, as would be investated in order to be verified, but could potentially be used in cases of appeal, if someone feels the admission criteria hasn't been adhered to correctly. However, I can't imagine it's looked at or considered in most cases, no.

@BoleynMemories13 is correct. They aren't allowed to make subjective judgements on your reasons for applying. It is all about the school's admission criteria. There should be space on the form for anything that would move your child into a higher category (looked after/formerly looked after, sibling, etc.) If not, you can put it here. Apart from this, anything you put will be ignored.

Only worth filling in if it's actually going to change the group your application is considered in.
I like it, closest, has breakfast club etc isn't going to make any difference.

Ah brilliant, thanks everyone. Will just leave it blank then!
