Just hoping for some advice; our eldest son is currently in preschool (montessori/reggio based) which is about 20 mins away through a fair bit of traffic. Its also a nursery which he previously attended for sen classes as he is awaiting asd assessment. The nursery/preschool has been fantastic with him, and has the specialists onside to help meet any needs he has. It hasn't been perfect of course (high staff turn over and negative reviews from ex staff members on job sites - slightly concerning), however for us overall our son has progressed a lot. His younger brother also attends for daycare and seems pretty happy there. He would be due to start preschool next year, however we don't think we can send him to the same place, as his brother will be starting p1 in a school closer to home and it will be tricky doing 2 runs for the same start time. There is also a full time pre school beside the primary school that our youngest could go to (walking distance) however not montessori/reggio and has a higher staff/child ratio of 1.13. The current pre school is 1:8 but places are only part time so wraparound care will cost us just over £200 a month to keep him there. I do love it though, but unless our eldest (with possible asd) can settle In his new school and do a breakfast club 5 days a week, we logistically can't do it. Should we push ourselves to keep our youngest in the same preschool as our eldest? Our experience of this preschool have been very good for our child. Its just a tough decision.
