How to help 9 year old to get the most out of PC

My ds is 9 and is awaiting an autism assessment. He would be classed as 'high functioning'.

He asked for a PC for Christmas last year so we got him one. It's really high spec and can do anything but he's hardly used it. If he does go on it, all he uses it for is to play games that he already has on his xbox.

He knows how to search the Internet but I'm just wondering if any teachers out there know of a programme or a way for him to get more out of his PC? To show him that there is so much more it can do rather than just play his games that he already has.

He liked TTRS on his tablet and used to play reading eggs when he was younger so I'm wondering if there is something similar to show him how to use a computer/the Internet?

Would he like coding? A programme like Scratch is fun and great if he has the interest.

Possibly, it's something we've been thinking about.
He's one of those children who gets upset if he cannot do something straight away and won't start things for the fear of failure so reverts to what he knows.
Is Scratch, game like? If he sees improvements incrementally, he seems to cope better.

You could look at coco coders. It's not cheap but there is lots of support and incremental progression that might suit.
