To all the primary school teachers who've spent time making mothers day cards with their classes - thank you! I've got some beauties this year and will miss getting them when my children are in secondary

In our area we only do them in infants (Not Primary for some very touching and understandable reasons) and I love them , they make my Day.

Thank you.

I have a lovely card from DD, made at school with her teacher's gudance. The homemade card means far more than a shop bougth one IMO. It's lovely that school teachers do this with children.

dd's was lovely , simple but effective.

What a good OP!

Ds made me a card in the shape of a cup with a tea bag taped to the inside! (poor nursery staff would have had about 50 of them to do)

I have a classic! A Lovely card with these sentences inside:
The sentence starters were done for them they added the endings:

I think my Mum is a lovey dovey
My mum likes wine gums (HE likes them)
My mum has nice hats (I dont own a hat)
My mum loves to go on the Wii (I hardly get a chance, honest)
My mum enjoys food
I love by Mum because she Hugs me^

When I asked DS about the hats he said he coudln't think what to write so wrote what someone else did! Could have been worse!

I love it too bits. Best card ever, made with love and makes me laugh everytime I read it!

Thanks for letting me share

My ds and all his classmates, came out of school on Friday with Mothers Day pressies, wrapped in yellow tissue paper and stickers attached saying 'please don't get me wet'...

I opened mine when we got home (curiosity got the better of me), and it was a white tile with a flower painted on it and my ds had attempted to write his name on the bottom!!

Am chuffed to bits with it!

Thank you.

Ds2 (5) has drawn a picture of us all inside the card and helpfully explained "I drawed a willy on me, , and Dad>". Thankfully it wasn't immediately obvious.

LOL

I have one with a flying giraffe on the front (it has wings, but no head, because it's gone off the top of the page) and "happy movers day" inside. Will definitely treasure it forever!

mistressmiggins · 02/03/2008 19:46

I had a flower card which the teacher had written "I love my mum because" then every petal was written by DS with reasons

its lovely

Dandi · 02/03/2008 20:07

i got one with 'your the besd mummy in the yoonivas'

drivinmecrazy · 02/03/2008 20:11

My DD 2 (2 yo) made me a lovely ladybird card, but DD1 (7) was sent home ill on Friday afternoon so didn't get to pick up the card she had made, she was so upset today. She rectified the situation by making another card. Shop bought just aren't the same. Will be really upset when they stop making them

melpomene · 02/03/2008 20:20

DD1 (reception) made me a beautiful card with daffodils painted on it and a written message inside.

The staff at DD2's nursery had a wondeful idea: in addition to a card, the children decorated little silver heart-shaped boxes with glitter, beads etc. Then they dipped dried apricots in chocolate and put them in the boxes. DD2 was so proud and pleased to give it to me.
