Help!

Our DS wrote about a story instead of what he did at the weekend,

It included elements of weeing and pooing and dinosaurs putting fires out. However, it also mentioned daddy hitting mummy and a baby - which has never happened ever.

Tye school phoned in regards to safeguarding for a meeting with the head, he said he was happy for us to talk to him and it would just stay between us. But I just cannot sleep I have a horrible feeling that this won’t blow over even though it was obvious that it was just a story.

if they refer do they have to tell you?

I suspect the safeguarding lead would have chatted to your child with another adult present. Hopefully your child would have owned up about it being a story and the meeting will just be to discuss things and check in with you both. Kids make things up all the time but they do have a responsibility to safeguard

So you think that’s it’s all over? I’m just so sick with worry. We’ve spoken to him about telling the truth and only writing stories when he’s asked to write stories. He said he didn’t realise that he could get us in trouble and that he couldn’t remember what we did so made up a crazy story.
