What's it like working in an SEN primary school?

I have an interview in a few days at a local SEN school.
I've an experienced TA, but with a passion for helping SEN children.
Tell me everything I could expect, warts n all. I want to see if it differs from the reality I'm thinking it is.

Thankyou.

Busy. Challenging. Rewarding.

I've worked for 15 years in sld/ pmld and swapped this year to working across the federation so also work in the mid primary. (New role that was federation based).

I love it. You get a whole range of pupils with a whole range of needs but every time you meet a need the reward of seeing g them so chuffed with themselves is worth every second.

I've worked in special schools for over 20 years.

It can be fun, challenging, exhausting, rewarding, surreal, frustrating, hands on, but rarely boring!

You build up much closer relationships with the children but often do much more personal and sometimes medical care

It is not for everyone and some roles are definitely not for everyone
