The Hall school

Hello, I know there are a few historic threads about the Hall, but just wondering if anyone has more current opinions about the school. Is it nurturing all the way up these days? Are they supportive of different types of children (not just the sporty/ alpha types)? How is the teaching and learning support at both ends- extending and supporting?
And are they coming round to boys wanting to leave at 11+, now that the landscape of day school secondary entrance is changing (CE being slowly faded out.)

Any opinions gratefully received.

Hi all , I stumbled on this thread this evening, my ds will be sitting the Hall assesment next year and after having gone through the process with my dd this year, I wanted to be more prepared.
We currently are in chelsea area but will be moving closer to NW. Any advice on the things that the hall looks for in the assessments/ is it a 2 stage process like most of the nw schools .

Thanks in advance

At both club and school level, my son plays multiple sports with and against boys from the Hall.

Some are among the nicest kids you could ever meet with fantastic parents. Echoing comments by @GeorginaLS and @maryso, however, others are incredibly competitive to the point of being downright nasty to their own teammates. Unsurprisingly, you don’t want to spend a second more than you have to with their parents who clearly encourage that kind of behavior. While the former certainly exist, it’s the latter that most people in the area tend to associate with the school, to the point where I’ve had some parents semi-apologetically introduce themselves by saying “yes, my son goes to the Hall, but we’re not like that…”

It was probably an isolated incident, but in light of the recent scandal with their (former) head of ICT, I would certainly do some due diligence if you’re considering the school.
