Hi everyone,
I'm a maths tutor and I was looking to make a resource to help with lessons for KS2 maths students.
I asked ChatGPT to make a story that teaches multiplication.
This is what it came up with:
Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Lily. She lived in a small village with her parents and friends. One day, while exploring the forest near her village, she stumbled upon a strange machine. It was made of metal and had buttons and levers all over it.
Lily was curious, so she approached the machine and read the sign on it: "The Magic Machine – insert any object and it will be duplicated." She thought to herself, "This could be fun!" and placed a small pebble into the machine. To her surprise, out popped two pebbles!
Excited by her discovery, Lily ran back to her village to tell everyone about the Magic Machine. Her friends were skeptical at first, but after seeing the duplicated pebbles, they all wanted to try it for themselves.
One of Lily's friends, Jack, inserted a stick into the machine, and out popped two sticks. Another friend, Sarah, inserted an apple and got two apples. Everyone was having a great time duplicating their objects.
But then, Lily had an idea. She took two apples and put them into the machine at the same time. To everyone's amazement, four apples came out!
Lily and her friends continued to play with the Magic Machine, duplicating different objects and noticing how the number of duplicated objects was always double the number of original objects. They learned that the machine was teaching them about multiplication!
From that day on, Lily and her friends used the Magic Machine to help them understand multiplication better. They even started teaching their parents and the other villagers about it.
Years went by, and Lily grew up to be a math teacher. She never forgot the Magic Machine and how it had taught her and her friends about multiplication in a fun and exciting way.
The end.
