Year 4 - Colfe's/Dunstan's/BHS/John Ball/All Saints

We have a bright but bored autistic Year 4 child at our local school. She can be anxious and struggles socially sometimes but is managing well with private therapy. We've had a few disappointing issues with her school as she's vulnerable in the playground. She's keen to move but we are unsure where to move her to, and whether mid year or Year 5 September start is better.

Ideally we're looking for a nurturing, academically challenging but not pushy school which provides a good all round education - ie isn't overly academically focused (does this exist?!). We're open minded about state versus private, and haven't yet worked out what we'll do for secondary.

John Ball, All Saints, Colfe's, St Dunstan's and BHS are all quite different but have places. I've looked round all but not recently, will look again. Interested in experience of how these schools manage behaviour, SEN (esp. anxiety/social communication issues) and KS2 move (worried she'll find it hard to make friends). She has a younger sibling. Thanks for your help.

My daughters are Blackheath High - school is really warm and welcoming. Friendly staff, teachers and students. Its not pushy at all - mixed ability gitls but still achieves great GCSE and A Level results. No bullying at all. I do recommend it - if you are looking for nuturing environment its a perfect place.

We are in the similar situation. We also considered Colfes, St Dunstans and Blackheath High. We will move to Greenwich soon so we decide to go for Blackheath High as I love the Blackheath Village also my daughter prefer to be in single sex school. But ofcourse we will sit on assesment and then decide which one will be the our options. But for now our first option is Blackheath High.

would be v unusual for All Saints to have a spot for a non sibling come available in Y4?

our DD joined Blackheath High when she was in year 2. There were 2 groups of year 2s in that time and 15-16 girls in each class. My daughter quickly became friends with all girls. Usually all girls have “no best friend policy” so they spend time all together. My daughter quickly settled (in first term) and felt like home. No regrets.

Thank you very much for sharing these experiences. It's really heartening to hear that about BHS. At the moment my daughter isn't that keen on the idea of single sex. She may of course change her mind if she goes and sees.

Does anyone have experience of moving to John Ball, Colfes, Dunstan's or All Saints in KS2 or any idea of how strong their SEN offering is in practice? Thanks a lot.
