storyworld reading books for reception

dd in reception happily reads all the 45 key words, and quite a few besides. she was only started on word books after october half term. but she loves reading, and has just picked it up.
currently she is being given books that have lots of small print that the parent is supposed to read, and a speech bubble containg a sentaence, eg, 'we can see it'. she manages to read a substantial number of the small print words. from sight, or simply from what she thinks should come next. eg, she will happily say the word 'could' becaseu she knows that is what should be next, but will struggle with blending the word 'under'
i really want her tomove onto something with cvc words, or just simpler words, so that she is actually blending the sounds together. and not just making up the story. but the teacher thinks we should just play word games at home, and stick with these words.
i have thought about trying her on ds's stage 6 books.
any suggestions please o n how to help her blend sounds

Hi Pukkapatch. My dd1 is in reception too. They had an evening at the school for parents to help them teach the children to read. They recommended the Read Write Inc speed sounds to help with the blending. You can get them on amazon. Set 2 sounds like what you're looking for. Set 1 is very good for handwriting though as it says underneath each letter how it should be written. We also find the school books a bit basic at times. We've been using the Julia Donaldson Phonics set for additional reading. We got them from The Book People. I think they were a £10 for the full set (I think 18 in total).
I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know what the 45 key words are? Can you tell me? I'll have to test dd1 on them!
Best wishes.

The ORt books, although dull, are good for CVC words. And children really seem to enjoy them!
