Do 4 year old DC walk/scooter/cycle to school 1.1 miles?

Distance to school is 1.1 mile, 22 minutes adult walk.
Is it too much for 4 year old to walk/scooter/cycle this distance twice a day?
There is no bus route that gets close to the school. Bus travel comes to similar time (~20 minutes) with 6-9 minutes walk (adult walk) on both ends.
We have a car so can drive DC to the school but might get a bad traffic in peak hours.
I am guessing Reception children are not brought in pushchairs.
Shall I get some kind of trolley like Micro Wagon
or there is no need and 4 year old confidently do 1.1 miles twice a day by foot, scooter or bike?
I would prefer to buy something in advance rather than discover in September that the distance is too much for DS and buy in rush whatever is available.

Thanks to all new responses.
We are in SW London, zone 2, so majority of the walk will be along the roads.
I do not want to take a pushchair in case other children find it funny.

Don’t discount the bus, it saves lot of the walk. You could just do it one way.

That’s fine—and so much healthier for you all and the planet. I think a scooter or bike is best for them, and have a few tries in advance.

Crumbs, I'd get the bus at least back. And don't any of you have work to get to?!

I drop my kids at primary school at 8.40am, get home by 9.10am, start work at 9.30. Do you really think a round trip walk of just over 2 miles is shockingly long?

Snap! I’m wondering how close you are to mr now 😀 Scooters are the prevailing choice, closely followed by bikes (generally more Y1 and up than reception age though) and cargo bikes are also on the up. Never see pushchairs though except for the nursery age little ones.
