Sydenham GDST vs Bromley GDST (Junior)

Hi Mums,
my daughter just received two offers for a place at Reception next year, one from Sydenham High Junior GDST and one from Bromley High Junior GDST. They are both very good schools, we have visited them both and we really liked them, so the only driver for us to choose would be proximity to where we live.
My question for you is: if you have direct experience of any of these schools, is there anything you would suggest we should consider or any major pros/cons we should be aware of?
Thanks!

I don't have info on either school, but I went to a GDST and loved it. Wonderful system.

We have friends at both schools and they all equally love it for different reasons. What’s closer to you @Alecarbon that might make your decision easier!

Have friends with kids at Sydenham High who are very happy with it. Its meant to be very strong on the pastoral side of things

I went to Sydenham high from reception to year 11. The junior school was amazing and I cannot fault a single thing about it. They teach a very strong attitude to learning and there were so many opportunities that i now réalise are rare in a junior school. The sports were great and lots of clubs available. (I did leave the juniors in 2017 but I’m pretty sure it’s only gone upwards since I joined the seniors). Many go on to the senior school, but my friends also went on to newstead wood, jags, alleyns and a few boarding schools. The teachers were very innovative in their lessons, kind and didn’t treat us like babies, even when we were very young. I really cannot fault it and I don’t remember anyone else (or my parents remember) who had a problem in the junior school. There were a real mix of girls, from all backgrounds, but everyone left juniors well suited to secondary school education and I cherish my memories from the junior school. Best of luck with your decision!

I’m sure either would be fine if you want a single sex setting from such a young age. I know two young women that went to Bromley for secondary - one a medic and one works in the City. Both were happy there. I would chose based on which is nearest.
