Hi All,

Any parent here with kids going to landmark international cambridge for me to connect with for some questions? I had a few questions specially as we are in distress over school change so appreciate any support from fellow parents...

My children were there for 3 years but I'm not sure I can be much help as I decided to move them both but for different reasons...

Hi
I have two kids at Landmark who love it and happy to answer questions.

In my experience there were many positives but also some real negatives with the school which we hadn't appreciated initially...both outgrew it unfortunately. There are some incredible teachers there however as they went up through the school years the friendship and social development aspects were very limited due to its size. It might suit some children though.

One other thing to bear in mind is that their 5 star rating on Facebook, google is heavily biased as many are or were staff at the school or heavily involved parents. We were also all asked to post reviews / ratings by the school at a PTA meeting once. Having said that, I'm guessing many schools prob do similar however it felt rather disingenuous to me...

Would anyone have an opinion on landmark being a good place for a child just in years 5 and 6? Would then move on to a different secondary school. Very academic child with ADHD…

Hi, in my experience it was really good for SEN with smaller class sizes and they are good at stretching them if bright. I would get 2 taster days if you can as with small classes it might be equally important to see if your child fits in with the others in the class. Bear in mind that friendships out of school may mean a very wide geographical radius which was a down side when we were there. SENCO's were brilliant though.

I really regret putting my child there for senior school tho... just far too small and it's just too cosseting, teens need space to get more independence and friendships etc. there is another school in Cambridge which is larger and caters very well for SEN which we have moved my child too and it was definitely the right choice! Good luck

@TheOracleatDelphi - which school is the one you are happy with - if you don’t mind sharing ?

Sancton wood senior which is great, still small but a better size with 3 forks per year group and if you have a girl, St. Mary's is incredible with any SEN - experience of both here!

@TheOracleatDelphi that’s really helpful, thank you. Maybe I should look at SW for year 5 too…
