Hello
I know they are all great schools. Anyone can offer any thoughts on them?
Toured them all. Eaton house building is v tired but gets good results. Garden house no longer prep for 7/8 exams.
Wetherby downside is have to move after Y3.
lack of outside space in them all!
Thank you. Will have to make up our minds in the next week :)

We have a place at both schools so I have received letters from both as to the situation. Mr Snell pulled out of EHB since for family reasons he cannot manage a full time headship anymore. I can only imagine something sad has happened in his family between when he accepted the post and now which has meant his circumstances have changed. He is not continuing as Head at Wetherby. Wetherby will have a new headmaster as planned. Mr Snell has a position in the new private equity company which has purchased Alpha plus and therefore Wetherby. I imagine that will be less demanding on his time so he can deal with his family situation.

Hello 👋

We have a son who attends GHS, we also got a offer from Eaton House school but opted for GHS.

My son is extremely happy there and he doing very well academically, the teachers and staff are great (very caring)

Which school have you chosen?

@Coronateachingagain Is Dukes known for losing teaching talent? Curious from your comment.

We continue to retain our place at EHB. Given their 100+ yrs experience as well as the maintenance / experience of the EH schools Principal S Segrave whom the new head will report into, we think this is our best bet for 7 / 8+. WK never got close to the 7 / 8+ results EHB has had and there is no other school in the area offering this USP.

@llany We are in the same boat. Turned down other offers for EHB as they deliver good 7/8+ results. Now very worried.

llany · 26/06/2023 16:04

Yes worried indeed. We shall see and learn more this week post the welcome event

"Mr Snell pulled out of EHB since for family reasons...."

I think that's a euphemism for "I've found something better!"

greenspaces4peace · 29/06/2023 04:40

from what I’ve read he’s not pulled out but is part time sharing?? To me it read like a close family member had a recent medical diagnosis.

Wrong info

I think he is now in the management position of the private equity group that owns Alpha Plus. Taking a back seat behind the scene. What a waste..

Have a read of the story in The Times today… clearly nothing to do with family issues - he was simply offered a vast amount of money by the new owner of Wetherby not to go to his rival.

Eaton House Belgravia or Summer Fields School? My son is in year 2 this year and will take 8+ next year. Should I stay in EHB or turned to SF? People always says London prep schools are more academic? How about the academic in SF? Which school is more academic?

Good news though Montague is leaving! So 3rd headmaster in as many years! Go Dukes!
