Hi everyone,

My son is going for 4+ in September 2023. He is yet to have interviews in some of the north London schools such as The Hall, UCS and Highgate. We have received an offer for St Christina which we should accept in the next two weeks. As this school has got no 11+ outcome for boys I was not sure if I should pay the deposit for it until I hear from other schools. Has anyone have a child going to st Christina recently or have any info on this school. I really appreciate your comments.

Bumping this - any recent reviews of the school?

I’ve had 2 dds there, one now in year 6 the other finished. One started in year 2, the other year 3. It’s a happy environment, very nurturing with a good mix of kids. The teaching is good for the most part. Both my dds needed extra support with maths. The school provided some through the SENCO but we needed tutoring help on top.

The facilities are improving all the time, a lot of money has recently been spent on the playground and nursery areas with more improvements to come. They use Primrose Hill for some PE lessons. It has a definite Catholic slant which I am fine with but others may not be. It’s now co-ed all the way through but my dds have not had a boy in their class. A lot more in the younger years now though.

my DD is part of the co-ed generation at St Christina’s 😁

Y4 and all the years below that are now fully co-ed. The school has bent over backwards to make it a welcoming and thriving atmosphere for boys and I see it as overwhelmingly positive that they’ve pushed boys through, previously they only stayed till the 7+. It’s a lovely school, kind and nurturing and definitely not a pushy hothouse, but the children get excellent results at 11+ and go on to all the best schools.

The headmaster is really switched on to all the secondaries and has contacts with all the boys as well as girls schools, so even though it’s going to be new for them to help boys through the 11+ in 2024/5 I think they’re in a very strong position.
