Does anyone have their child at this school 🏫? DD is sitting the exam in Dec 22, but I'd love to speak to parents who's children might have started in Sept 22.

No experience but my DD is sitting City, Bute and Latymer. Plus applied for 2 less selective schools to make sure we have options.

We know the least about city, especially in its new co-Ed format. We loved Bute House when we looked last year and have local friends with DD there who rave about it. Latymer would be a nice option as it avoids 11+. We haven't had a chance to look around. We are not yet sure if we would pick it or city if DD does not get Bute.

We are not tutoring as DD is at a pre-prep which helps prepare for the tests as they all leave at 7+ or 8+. We are using atom and bond books. I know from DD's pre prep that the Bute assessment has been atom the last few years and imagine the others are similar as most say the children sit 'online tests' on the assessment day. DD is doing well according to her pre prep but who knows if that is good enough for these selectives, along with her needing to do ok in the group tasks and other elements. We see it that if she gets a place somewhere, it is truly right for her. If not, it is because she will be better suited to somewhere else.

I am curious too about CLSJ .
Esply whether the building construction completely now on time .

Having options is always a wise approach. We're currently sitting for City, Highgate, South Hampstead Girls and our less selective option is probably Queens College. Ideally trying to avoid the 11+ as you can tell from the options listed.

We have friends with daughters at Bute who love it there. Many of the ex- Bute girls we know went onto Cheltenham Ladies and also loved their learning experience.

Like you, we're also not tutoring as DD is at a pre-prep. Utilising all of the resources you mentioned alongside exam paper plus and past question papers. Nothing worse than tutoring a child who then develops imposter syndrome upon starting the school because they can't keep up! It becomes a never ending cycle of tuition. Her gaining a space at the right school for her, will only enhance her love of learning, so definitely the approach I agree with.

Yes, according to the virtual open day, the building will be ready for them to move into after the half-term.

yes I don’t want to really become dependent on £70 tutor like morphine for next 15 years .
Hats off to tutor . With 2 cuppa tea I am exhausted …. After 2-3 hours . Need another cuppa for the afternoon.

what they drink? Red bull mix with throat honey?

Can anyone please recommend a tutor for City of London Junior School? We've moved from another country and I know my kids will need some help to adjust before they sit for City's exams. Thanks

DD just sat SHHS 7+ today. Does anyone know when they’ll advise if they’ve made it to Round 2 assessment?

Hi, just would like to ask about City of London junior school's preparation if that's ok. Can you recommend some books and tutors? I heard there will be interviews. Can you share any your experience on that? Thank you very much. Eliza

My son did nothing, but got an offer. I think there's no need to worry about it so much
