Can any current parents of either school offer me some views on their experiences and assessments of the schools? Clearly both are very different to each other but we are in the odd position of potentially choosing between them (place at one and top of waitlist for the other) and it’s an impossible decision particularly as OFSTEDS etc are very old for each school… would love to know what ppl think of each in terms of teaching; nurturing and bringing out the best in their kids in these early years.

thanks very much in advance

You might need to be a bit more specific on location to attract the attention of those who can help.

If in London, are you referring to Coleridge Primary School in Crouch End and St Aidan’s VC Primary School in Stroud Green?

C is the largest and St A the smallest primary schools in the borough. We know families at St. A and they really like it, children are very happy and settled there. Kids seem to do well and they nurture them from early years onwards. It is small space wise (I've heard it described as a village school in London Zone 2) which may or may not suit all kids. Parents are very involved in PTA and various volunteer opportunities. Communication can be a bit hit and miss as it's a small school and just a few people trying to do everything. There has been a change of staff recently with new SENCO and deputy stating last year and a new head teacher starting in January 2023 so don't know what effect that will have. One thing a friend said (her eldest has just left Year 6) was that there's no one secondary school where a percentage of kids go to. It varies every year and kids in Year 6 normally spread across up to 10 different schools or more or move out of the area/London. I don't know anyone at Coleridge sorry.
