DS has recently started Reception Year at school. I would appreciate advice on this subject ie cost of etc etc. What gifts go down well?? Which don't?? Any you've received that you wish you hadn't??
I know that it's the thought that counts and all that but I would like to get this right as would rather not commit social suicide on his behalf!!
I am doing my best to help him fit in with his new pals.

I soend about £7 and we do buy lots of superhero pressies for the boys as that;s what thye all seem to be into! Ds in in Y1 and dd in R and both seem keen to give Power rangers, batman etc to bits, Polly Pocket , Littlest pet Shop/Disney princess to girls!

Do not give hideously dangerous presents like the Turtles mega ball firing pipe like ds got last yr - lethal and unfortunately dh opened it before I got to it so wasn't able to dump it straight away!

Don't get too hung up on pressies ho - my BF does and really went OTT giving to a boy her ds liked only to find that the boy's dad took all the cards etc off the poresents to open separately so the mum had no idea who the individual pressies were from! her £15 present could've been from anyone!
