What are the alternative schools like and what are her chances of getting into the ose? DD is at an infant and the jumior is good but not great. The alternatives (without a long drive) are either another junior (which she would most likely get into) or joining into a primary which although the closest of them all as it is mid school she is unlikely to get a place.

The school I was thinking of is a primary school - I didn't realize that it would be hard to get in there.

Sometimes it can be easy getting a place at a primary in the middle of the school, especially around this age as some children go off to private prep schools at around 7. (Watching thread with interest as I will be facing exactly this dilemma in about two years' time.) It depends how in-demand the school is I suppose.

The trouble with a primary is that the class is already full, so unless there are children leaving and no waiting list there will be no intake at this age.
