Hi,Any advice on Kingswood School in Epsom and Banstead Prep?I am currently looking at those 2 for my son who has speech delay ,think also has some focus/attention difficulties which is being assessed /waiting for assessment at the moment. He is progressing but def will benefit from some extra 1:1 support and my understanding is that both those schools have facilities and offer that support .My other concern is that due to his communication difficulties he struggles to socialise with other kids and we need really nurturing supporting environment where he is not going to be bullied .any advice please!

I am not sure why you are looking at these private schools but ..
my experience is that standard private schools are not great for kids with any social and behavioural needs. They are great for kids with dyslexia sometimes, but tend not to be too keen if kids are perceived as causing issues in the classroom. Looking at these schools they are all about the typical private school intake and are very keen to talk about their gifted and talented provision and the amount of extra curricular and specialist teachers.

My DS is at Kingswood House. I can't rate it highly enough tbh. He has some speech delay too and the school is very well set up to support as it has its own study centre with SALT etc in house. It is incredibly nurturing. Lots of boys in his class had lost confidence at their previous school and are now thriving due to the nature of the very inclusive environment. Best decision we ever made to move him there. Please DM me if you want more information!

I thought about it too ,am just hoping that a smaller class (my son gets a bit overwhelmed by big crowds )plus potential to get extra 1:1 support straightaway from private school rather than waiting for state school (from friends know at least 6 months wait ).from some online research those 2 private are quite good for kids with delays etc but obviously not sure since one thing is what they say on paper but another one what you actually get .
