Welwyn Garden City-Independent primary vs "requires improvement" state school

Hello
The state primary school closest to us in Welwyn Garden City was rated Outstanding by Ofsted around 10 years ago but upon recent inspection is now rated "requires improvement".
We are considering moving our son (key stage 1) and going private. We are based in Welwyn Garden City but both work so would have to be able to do the school run.
Does anyone have any opinions on Duncombe and St Joseph's in the Park in Hertford? I have heard Sherrardspark in WGC does not have a great reputation?
Thanks for an insights

I think Heath Mount is the best in the area. Not sure that fits in with work though. Do you trust your head and governors to turn your state school around? If they can, would you not stay? What do you want for secondary? Look at destinations before you decide which independent school. Do they match your expectations? If you want private secondary, do these preps get them in?

I was just interested in what you did OP. Did you move schools?

Do you mean the destination of year 6 children?

I have been trying to find that information out for some of the schools but no success. I would be very interested to find out.

@snoodles
Surely the preps say what destinations their DC go to? That is why some parents pay! I know my local preps boast about destinations and list scholarships every year. Do these schools not have that info? It also makes a difference. Do they feed boarding schools at 13? Do they feed day schools at 11? If so, which schools? Are parents going back to state secondaries or do they have loftier aims? Schools vary on the basis of destinations. Our 11 plus Crammer is very different from the 13 plus boarding school destination prep.

I mean state schools. I can't find any information on the destinations of year 6 students in our area at all. I'm just interested really!

Heath mount does state destinations on their web site.
