Do you buy teacher a Christmas present? If so, what is nice to receive?

Dd is in reception (in a class of 9). What's the protocol? Assuming it's nice to give something as a thank you, what would you give? Thanks in advance!

A pack of white A4 paper, real Pritt sticks, box of tissues, etc.
If you were a nurse would you like a gift of sterile pads, a chamber pot or syringes?

Give those to the school if you wish but dont be under any delusion that they are a gift for the teacher.
